Musing Joyfully on January

I muse joyfully on this frigid, frigid January day, on the ice so deep I can skate, on my flannel sheets, on blankets around the house, on the mittens and hats strewn around so the outside is cozy, is doable, is January.

I muse joyfully on the cozy inside, on fires and warmth and static electricity and skin that begs to be moisturized.

I muse joyfully on early nights to bed and coziness and heat blasting in the car.

I muse joyfully on winter, on the quiet, on the pink skies surrounded by snow and quiet and quiet and quiet.

January, a pause, a reflection, a time to muse joyfully that we’ll pack those mittens away and hats and gloves and scarves – but today, today we need them. They allow us to thrive outside, to feel the frigid air, to feel alive.

Muse joyfully, January, I’m glad you’re here.
