1,034 New COVID-19 Cases, No Deaths Monday; Hospitalizations Going Down

CONCORD – The state Department of Health and Human Services announced 1,034 new positive test results for COVID-19 and no new deaths Monday, for a current PCR test positivity rate of 8.2%.

Today’s results include 618 people who tested positive by PCR test and 416 who tested positive by antigen test. There are now 6,444 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire. Of the results reported today:

  • 1/6: 36 new cases today, for an updated total of 762 cases
  • 1/7: 72 new cases today, for an updated total of 952 cases
  • 1/8: 80 new cases today, for an updated total of 1,089 cases
  • 1/9: 111 new cases today, for an updated total of 592 cases
  • 1/10: 53 new cases today, for an updated total of 936 cases
  • 1/11: 50 new cases today, for an updated total of 543 cases
  • 1/16: 277 new cases today, for an updated total of 578 cases
  • 1/17: 355 new cases

Test results for previous days are still being processed and the total number of new positives for those days are not yet complete. Updated case counts for prior days will be reflected on the COVID-19 interactive dashboard.

Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates. Of those with complete information, there are one hundred and thirty-eight individuals under the age of 18 and the rest are adults with 50% being female and 50% being male. The new cases reside in Rockingham (271), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (191), Strafford (86), Merrimack (68), Grafton (47), Cheshire (40), Belknap (30), Sullivan (28), Carroll (25), and Coos (25) counties, and in the cities of Nashua (93) and Manchester (77). The county of residence is being determined for fifty-three new cases.

Community-based transmission continues to occur in the State and has been identified in all counties. Of those with complete risk information, most of the cases have either had close contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis or are associated with an outbreak setting.

There are currently 237 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. In New Hampshire since the start of the pandemic, there have been a total of 57,864 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed.
