Man Dies After Being Shot By Police in Meredith

CONCORD – A Meredith police officer shot and killed David Donovan, 35, at 10 Bennett Drive in Meredith Sunday, according to a news release from Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald.

 Donovan died as a result of his injuries after being transported to Lakes Regional General Hospital.  An autopsy is scheduled for Mr. Donovan on Monday.

Three other individuals sustained injuries at the scene prior to police arrival, according to the release.  One man was transported for medical treatment and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

No officers have been physically injured and there is no threat to the public.  “Pursuant to protocol, the name of the officer involved in the incident is being withheld pending the conclusion of the formal interview,” the release said.
