2 New COVID-19 Deaths, 59 More Positive Tests Friday

 CONCORD – The state Department iof Health and Human Services announced two additional deaths related to COVID-19 Friday. We offer our sympathies to the family and friends.

They were one woman from Hillsborough County and a man from Rockingham County, both 60 years of age and older.

The state also announced 59 new positive test results for COVID-19. There have now been 6,375 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in New Hampshire. Eleven of the new cases are associated with an outbreak at a long-term care facility. Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates.

Of those with complete information, there are eight individuals under the age of 18 and the rest are adults with 58% being female and 42% being male. The new cases reside in Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (8), Rockingham (5), Merrimack (4), Carroll (2), Coos (2), Belknap (1), and Strafford (1) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (32) and Nashua (4).

Four new hospitalized cases were identified for a total of 685 (11%) of 6,375 cases. Five of the new cases had no identified risk factors. Community-based transmission continues to occur in the State and has been identified in all counties. Most of the remaining cases have either had close contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis or have recently traveled.
