MANCHESTER – InDepthNH.org’s Why the Future of News Matters with Gloria Norris, on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. examining today’s media landscape at the Derryfield Restaurant, is growing in tickets sales and sponsors, so it’s time to get your ticket.

Keynote speaker Gloria Norris discusses how her work as an author and filmmaker require a reporter’s skills and her take on today’s news. Her memoir, “KooKooLand,” details her youth growing up in Manchester. She will also be available to sign her book.

Our panel ACLU-NH’s Gilles Bissonnette, Executive Councilor Andru Volinsky, First Amendment Attorney Rick Gagliuso and InDepthNH.org founder Nancy West discuss why a vibrant press makes for great democracy.

And we recently added Sen. Dan Feltes. Gov. Chris Sununu says he has a scheduling conflict, but we are still trying to get him to the discussion as well because that’s what journalists do since Feltes and Volinsky are vying for the Democratic primary to challenge him.

We are grateful to the event sponsors: the Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Manchester Ink Link, Conway Daily Sun, the Seacoast Media Group, Northeast Delta Dental, Bernstein Shur law firm, the Wyman Family Foundation of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, the Gov. Wesley Powell Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and Peter W. Powell.

Cocktails, American and Greek hors d’oeuvres, desserts start at 5 p.m. Nov. 12. Tickets $60 by going to Eventbrite here  or mail check to NH Center for Public Interest Journalism, 38 Edgewater Drive, Barrington, NH 03825. Mention ‘news event’ in memo line and include your address to receive tickets.
