CONCORD—Today, the Senate Finance Committee voted “Ought to Pass” on SB 1, relative to paid family and medical leave, 4-2.

Senator Dan Feltes, Majority Leader and Vice Chair of the Finance Committee, released the following statement after the vote:

“Today’s committee vote on SB 1 is the next step forward ensuring that no Granite Stater has to choose between financial security and caring for a loved one. New Hampshire has been working toward paid family and medical leave for more than two decades; it’s time to finally pass common sense legislation making paid leave affordable and accessible to all working families and small businesses.

“It’s unfortunate that, at the direction of Governor Sununu, Senate Republicans put politics before the people of New Hampshire by refusing to even consider this.”
