Sarah Long Bridge Float In

It’s a wild week for work on the new Sarah Long Bridge connecting Portsmouth with Kittery, Maine. It’s the day that the center lift span of the $160 million bridge replacement is being floated in on barges, to eventually settle on bearings to support it.

Roger Wood spoke with bridge design chief engineer Joyce Taylor of the Maine Department of Transportation about the action this week and the work still to be done on the bridge.
