PORTSMOUTH – What do you get when you pair New Hampshire’s finest craft beers and the Seacoast’s best restaurants with a crisp fall evening at historic Strawbery Banke Museum? New Hampshire Public Television’s Passport Craft Beer and Food Pairing Tour – that’s what.

On Saturday, September 16 from  5 – 7:30 p.m., the 9th annual PASSPORT Craft Beer & Food Pairing Tour will take place on the grounds at Strawbery Banke Museum as a benefit for both New Hampshire Public Television and the Museum. Tickets are limited and sell out quickly; they can be purchased at nhptv.org/passport.

PASSPORT guests sample local craft brews thoughtfully paired with tasting sized portions from area restaurants designed to complement both the beer and the food. In partnership with the brewers and chefs, beer and food pairings are hand-selected by award-winning local chef Evan Hennessey,  owner of Stages at One Washington in Dover.

This year’s event has some exciting additions, including music from local folk-rock artists, MARTIN ENGLAND and the RECONSTRUCTED; a demonstration of colonial brewing techniques and how beer was made 250 years ago; and a raffle featuring bottles of specially crafted beer from participating brewers. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 3 for $12 and can be purchased with your PASSPORT tickets or at the event.

PASSPORT will feature 20 breweries, including Smuttynose Brewing Company, Portsmouth Brewery, 603 Brewery, Bad Lab Beer Company, Earth Eagle Brewing, Garrison City Beer Works, Great North Aleworks, Henniker Brewing Company, Martha’s Exchange Brewing Company, Moat Mountain, Neighborhood Beer Company, North Country Hard Cider Company, SmuttLabs, Stoneface Brewing, Throwback Brewery, Woodstock Inn Brewery.

Featured local restaurants include Stages at One Washington, 45 Market Street Bakery and Café, Bad Lab, British Beer Company, Calef’s Country Store, Carl’s Meat Market, Demeters, Earth’s Harvest Kitchen & Juicery, Fig Tree, Hayseed, Holy Grail, Laney & Lu Cafe, Michele’s Sweet Shoppe, One Hundred Club, Pete & Gerry’s, Port City Pretzel, Portsmouth Brewery, Row 34, Throwback Brewery and SALT.
