Today the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee voted 17-3 to recommend an ITL (inexpedient to legislate) motion on HB 351, a bill to expand the death penalty by making “a person who knowingly causes the death of a child guilty of capital murder.”
UPDATE: After this story was posted on Wednesday, there was some disagreement over whether SB 128 could in fact allow Northern Pass to pass on construction costs to consumers. InDepthNH.org is updating to make sure all of the parties have the opportunity to further explain their positions.

Retired Nashua Police Officer Tony Pivero testified in last week’s hearing to suppress the confession Anthony Barnaby gave in 1988 after the murders of two women, while prosecutors tried to paint Pivero as out yet again to embarrass the department.
Billed as “Not My President’s Day,” some of the issues addressed included fear about cutbacks in healthcare, weakening Social Security, remarks that demean women or people with disabilities, freedom of the press and immigration policies.
