There is a simple action we should all take next Tuesday. And rather than come right out and tell you exactly what that activity is, we are going to play a rhyming game. Other activities we should be doing rhyme with the action specific to Tuesday, November 8. This season of speeches and polls simply calls for some levity. Let’s play.

Get a TOTE and take it to the grocery store every time you shop. Enough with the plastic bags – or even the paper ones, stash the TOTE in your car and bring it in when you go to pick up milk or eggs or Yodels.
Dig a MOAT around your house. You can use this to keep out riff-raff AND as a potential water collection venue.
Donate a COAT to a winter clothing drive. Saint Mary Academy in Dover is having one right now along with Wonderland Thrift Shop in Stratham. If your closets are bulging with too much outerwear, grab a COAT or two and pass it on to someone who might need one.
Go pet a GOAT. These are fabulous creatures. Ask Bill aka “GOAT Guy” of Dover. Isaac the GOAT is his constant companion. You may see both in the holiday parade to be held in Dover on Sunday, November 27.
Write a NOTE. Don’t send a text, an email, write a handwritten NOTE. It’s much nicer, says so much more and creates such a lovely feeling of connectedness – sans WIFI.
FLOAT in a tub.
Increase your fiber with an OAT or two. I’m a fan of instant OAT meal; it’s filling and warms me up quick. I like the Market Basket High Fiber Brand.
Use the past tense of smite: SMOTE. As in, “She SMOTE the candidate with her umbrella after he was astonishingly rude.”
Get prepped for Thanksgiving and work on your BLOAT. Carb load big time before that big meal, you’ll be ready and your stomach will thank you.
Go celebrate the delightful SHOAT, Wilbur, in Charlotte’s Web at Portsmouth Christian Academy this weekend. Word has it, it’s awesome.
There you have it, words that rhyme with a most simple activity we can and should do on Tuesday.
