U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, says the defense subcommittee she chairs has approved funds for the Portsmouth Navy Yard, Pease Air National Guard Base and New Hampshire National Guard, plus other New Hampshire priorities.
The authorization she announced Tuesday is part of the next fiscal year’s National Defense Authorization Act. Roger Wood InDepth has more on her opening remarks at the Senate Armed Services Readiness and Management Support subcommittee meeting.
Ayotte, the state’s Junior Senator, also pointed out that language she introduced to block another round of base closings was approved by the subcommittee. The Senate Armed Services Committee will take up her subcommittee’s approvals along with other Fiscal 2017 legislation this week.
