InDepthNH.org is celebrating the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire presidential primary by showcasing  some of our favorite funnies by homegrown editorial cartoonist Mike Marland.  Marland, who was born in Littleton and raised in Lyman, “pretty much eats, sleeps and breathes cartoons & comics.”

And we’re glad of it.

Need a little more Mike Marland? How about checking out his new cartoon characters in The Beach, yeah, you read right. Go to http://www.marlandcartoons.com/

Marland is best known for his editorial cartoon work for the Concord Monitor. He has been freelancing cartoons to them for 28 years. He also draws a weekly satirical Sunday-funny-style comic for the Monitor about two NH legislators, Birch & Finch.

In addition to his editorial work, Marland draws a weekly rural humor comic strip, R.F.D. syndicated by King Features Weekly Service and is one of two gag writers for the long-running King Features daily comic strip Barney Google & Snuffy Smith.
